Encino

Encino is situated in the central portion of the southern San Fernando. It is flanked on the north by Reseda and the Sepulveda Basin, on the east by Sherman Oaks, on the southeast by Bel Air, on the South by Brentwood and on the west by Tarzana. It’s family-friendly, senior-friendly and commuter-friendly and it provides a range of housing options from condos to estates in several distinct neighborhoods. For instance, entry-level single-family homes can be found in Encino Park and Encino Village, north of Burbank Blvd. between Lindley and Balboa Park. Encino Woods, — with its mature tree-lined streets and traditional-style homes, — has the look of a New England village and offers a convenient yet quiet location between Ventura Blvd. and the 101 Freeway. Amestoy Estates north of the Blvd., characterized by larger lot sizes and the absence of sidewalks, has an almost “rural” look and has become home to a number of celebrities. Lake Encino, named for the Encino Reservoir on its south border, is a newer community located high atop Encino, distinctive for its community tennis courts. Rancho Estates, Royal Oaks and the newer, guard-gated “Royal Oaks Colony” enclave south of the Blvd. are the most expensive sections of Encino, with homes selling in the multi-millions. Encino’s hillside homes are an eclectic mix of styles, sizes and ages and most afford scenic views of the entire Valley as well as the easiest access to the Westside via Mulholland Drive. Encino also boasts the guard-gated multi-residential complex called Encino Towers – a popular choice for empty nesters downsizing from estate homes.

Within Encino’s borders or easily accessible are many houses of worship, private schools, some of the best public elementary schools (like Blue Ribbon Lanai Road, Encino Charter and Hesby Oaks K-8 Leadership Charter), easy shopping, great restaurants, movie theaters, a championship Little League, parks, golf courses and hiking trails. The Los Encinos State Historic Park and the Sepulveda Basin Recreation Area with its public golf courses, archery range, soccer fields and Lake Balboa are located in Encino. Come and enjoy the lifestyle!
